Maria Webster - Live Daemon

Maria Webster is a singer/songwriter based in Portland, OR.

Her performance style is an amalgamation of folk, rock, blues and country acoustic licks blended with a gritty contralto voice that perfectly fills a small coffeehouse – or blows the roof of a large club. While heavily influenced by the classic rock of her youth, Maria is musically reminiscent of the early works of Tom Petty, Melissa Etheridge, or Neil Young. Her voice brings to mind the polish of Tracy Chapman – or the volatility of live Janis Joplin. One listener described her as “Lucinda Williams plus Def Leppard with a side of Indigo Girls and Jimi Hendrix… minus the electric guitars.”

Maria (along with her trusty acoustic guitar, Gladys) performs primarily in the Pacific Northwest, though she plans to expand her touring range to the greater West Coast. Her entire catalog will soon be available on ReverbNation, including her last full-length recording, “Live Daemon”.

WHAT OTHERS SAY ABOUT MARIA:
…With a casual sense of style, Maria’s acoustic guitar work is only exceeded by her song-writing skills. Beyond that, her voice brings a brutal honesty to her songs as well as to an eclectic repertoire of cover songs.
